DICKENS, Charles. The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby. London: Chapman and Hall, 1839. First edition in book form, 8vo (215 x 128mm.) Portrait frontispiece, 39 plates by 'Phiz'. (Lacking half-title, spotting and browning to plates, marginal tear to plate at p.175 and marginal paper repair to p.609, toning.) Near contemporary black half morocco, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (wear to spine ends, rubbing to extremities). - And a further two first editions by Charles Dickens (including 'Dombey and Son', 1848, 8vo, and 'Master Humphrey's Clock', 2 vols., 1840, 8vo) (4).
