DRAPARNAUD, Jacques Philippe-Raymond. Histoire Naturelle des Mollusques Terrestres et Fluviatiles de la France. Paris and Montpellier, [circa 1805.] 4to (307 x 202mm.) Half-title, 'Avertissement' and dedication by Madam la Veuve Draparnaud, errata leaf, 13 engraved plates. (Toning, occasional browning, minor spotting to title-page.) Near contemporary black half morocco over black buckram-covered boards, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (some loss to spine ends, rubbing to all extremities, blanks and endpapers replaced). Note: at his death, Draparnaud left numerous unpublished and incomplete writings, this being the only one that wasn't lost. A companion volume to this work was published in 1831 by A.L.G. Michard. Provenance: F. Savy (name-plate to front pastedown); B.S. Morton, marine ecologist (bookplate to the front pastedown).
