AMERICA. Report of the Joint Committee on the Conduct of the War. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1863-1866. 5 vols., 8vo (223 x 141mm.) 12 folding maps relating to field operations in the civil war in 'Supplemental Report' part 2. (Toning, occasional browning.) Original purple blind-stamped cloth (sunned spines, some hinges weakening, minor loss to spine ends). Provenance: Minnesota Historical Society (bookplate to front pastedown of part 3); Peter John Bilbrough (bookplates to front pastedowns). - And a further five volumes relating to America (including Alexander Mackay's 'The Western World, or Travels in the United States in 1846-47', 3 vols., 1849, 8vo) (10).
