BUMPUS. - Eric LINKLATER. Private Angelo. [London: Allen Lane] Privately Printed, [1958.] Limited edition, one of 2000 copies, includes a signed Christmas card from Allen Lane, 8vo (188 x 114mm.) (Toned.) Original boards (fading, minor soiling). - And a small archive of material relating to Bumpus Bookshop (including a.l.s.'s from publishers Allen Lane, Jonathan Cape, Rupert Hart-Davis and numerous letters from Basil Blackwell, one from William Russell-Flint, Edmund Blunden, several from artist Thomas Derrrick, cards from Harold Nicholson, Winston Churchill, Naomi Mitchinson and several photographs, including one of Somerset Maugham and another of E.M. Forster with John G. Wilson, managing-director of Bumpus, presumably at a signing.
