A Chinese Canton export lacquer work box, mid-19th century, the domed lid and sides decorated in gilt with panels of figures in pavilion scenes on a dark brown/black ground, the compartmentalized interior fitted with various ivory sewing accoutrements, including clamps, boxes and needle case, length 36cm (lacking feet and some faults).
