A Rolex Oyster Majestic Observatory steel cased gentleman's wristwatch, Ref. 2280, circa 1942, the jewelled movement detailed 'Rolex 17 Rubies, Patented Super Balance', the champagne tinted circular dial with luminous Arabic hour markers, outer seconds track and inner red 24-hour Arabic numerals, signed 'Rolex Oyster Majestic Observatory Swiss Made', the case with milled screw-off back, numbered '159151' over '2280', the winding button detailed 'Oyster Patent', case width 3cm, on a brown leather strap.
