BELLICARD, Jerome Charles [and Charles COCHIN.] Observations Upon the Antiquities of the Town of Herculaneum, Discovered at the Foot of Mount Vesuvius. London: for D. Wilson, and T. Durham, 1753. First edition, 8vo (190 x 119mm.) 42 copper-engraved plates, 3pp. index., with two sections from the second edition bound-in with a separate title dated 1756. (Browning, minor soiling to margins of several plates, lacking blanks.) Contemporary calf, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (light rubbing). Provenance: J. Watson (name inscribed to the title-page).
