EUROPE. - Dudley COSTELLO. Piedmont and Italy, from the Alps to the Tiber, Illustrated in a Series of Views Taken on the Spot. London: James S. Virtue, 1861. 2 vols., with two a.l.s.'s loosely inserted, 4to (263 x 199mm.) 132 steel-engraved plates by W.H. Bartlett and W. Brockedon, 5 double-paged colour maps of Italy, and 1 of Switzerland. (Heavy spotting to front and rear leaves, light to moderate within, toning, 1 plate laid-down.) Near contemporary red half morocco over red buckram, green and burgundy lettering pieces to the spines (rubbing to extremities) (2).
