NELSON. - Nicholas Harris NICOLAS. The Dispatches and Letters of Vice Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson. London: Henry Colburn, 1845. 4 vols. (of 7), first editions, 8vo (218 x 134mm.) Engraved portrait frontispiece, 3 engraved folding facsimiles, 1 engraved folding plan. (Spotting to frontispiece, toning throughout, some pencil underlining, manuscript notes in pencil and ink to rear leaves.) Original blind-stamped cloth (rebacked with original spine laid-down, rubbing to all extremities). Provenance: Vittorio Emanuele III, King of Italy [1900-1946], (library labels to the front pastedowns). - And a further fourteen volumes relating to Nelson and naval history (including A.T. Mahan's 'The Life of Nelson', 2 vols., 1897, 8vo, and the second edition of John Campbell's 'Lives of the Admirals and Other Eminent British Seamen', 8 vols., 1750, 8vo) (18).
