A Chinese carved rhinoceros horn water coupe or shallow libation cup, probably Kangxi period, the shallow leaf shaped bowl carved in low relief with fruiting vines rising to a similarly carved and pierced angled handle inhabited by a squirrel, the horn of honey brown colour darkening towards the base, weight 39.3g, length 11.5cm (minor chips). Note: as this lot incorporates rhinoceros horn, it would be very unlikely that a re-export certificate would be granted beyond the UK. Customers outside the UK are requested NOT to bid on this item.
