A pair of impressive Japanese Satsuma earthenware stick stands, Meiji period, each of cylindrical form, modelled in high relief with a figural scene beneath a brocade fabric canopy, the circular top and base painted and gilt with Tokugawa, kiku and ho-o bird mon against a simulated brocade ground, raised on six short scroll feet, each with gilt signature panel to underside, height 70cm (faults and one foot missing).
