(Old adhesive marks to pastedowns, minor chipping to front-free endpaper.) Original green cloth, pictorial gilt to upper cover (slight spine lean, spine ends bumped, lower cover weakening). Note: Maugham's first novel. Provenance: F.S. Eden (ink inscribed on initial blank).
