A Chinese archaistic butterscotch coloured soapstone tripod censer and cover, late Qing dynasty, the swollen cylindrical drum shaped body and cover carved in low relief with mythical beasts within keyfret borders, flanked by a pair of carved and pierced mask and tongue with loose ring handles, raised on three lion mask shouldered paw feet, incised black three-character mark to underside, height 8.1cm (cover repaired), with an ebonized hardwood stand.
