A Japanese Satsuma earthenware circular box and cover by Kinkozan, Meiji period, of drum form with stud moulded borders, the top painted and gilt with a scene of a maiden and two seated children, the sides with millefleurs, the interior with butterflies, black and gilt signature to base, height 3.8cm, diameter 6.2cm (minor retouched chip to rim).
