An early Victorian silver entrée dish and cover, the shallow dish with cast foliate scroll, flowerhead and scalloped rim, flanked by a pair of shell handles, the lobed dome cover engraved with a stag's head crest beneath a pomegranate, stem and leaf finial, each piece numbered '2', London 1841 by John Mortimer & John Samuel Hunt, the underside stamped 'Mortimer & Hunt' and numbered '751', weight 1850.2g. Provenance: from the principal contents of Stone House, Bolney, West Sussex.
