A Greek Gnathia ware epichysis, 4th century BC, the highly arched handle and channel spout above a domed reel body decorated with vine tendrils, height 14.5cm. Provenance: Sotheby's Antiquities, Islamic, Indian and South-east Asian Art Sale, New Bond Street, 28 Oct 1993, part of Lot 101. Later sold by Ancient Relics (see label and certificate). Note: from the estate of a West Sussex collector.
