LOT 3101
RAILWAYS. The Railway Magazine. London: The Economic Printing and Publishing Company Limited, and Prospect Magazines, July 1897-December 1996. Vols. 1-142. 8vo (various sizes, 239 x 160mm to 290 x 209mm.) Numerous lithographed plates, some in colour and some folding, maps and illustrations. (Occasional spotting, light browning.) Various bindings, red and green cloth with gilt lettering to spines to vol. 100, and paper wrappers thereafter (fading to cloth spines, some wear to spine ends, light rubbing). Note: between November 1963 and December 1996 the definite article was omitted and it was known as 'Railway Magazine'. Provenance: J.C. Inglis (gilt name to upper cover of vol.1); Gerald Walter Erskine Loder (bookplate to front pastedowns of 1901 vols.) (a large quantity).
