A late 17th/early 18th century Goan carved ivory figure representing the Child Jesus Christ as a good shepherd, seated upon a terraced hill, intricately modelled with sheep, tigers, an elephant and a recumbent female representing Santa Maria Magdalena, height 13.5cm (some faults and repairs). Note: a certificate for a pre-1918 item of outstanding high artistic, cultural or historical value has been granted to sell this lot.
