First trade edition, 8vo (203 x 148mm.) 13 colour plates with captioned tissue-guards, numerous illustrations. (Mild toning, faint spotting to front-free endpaper.) Original green cloth, pictorial gilt to upper cover (some sunning to spine). Provenance: Daphne Field (gift inscribed to on the frontispiece tissue-guard).
