DALLAWAY, James, and Edmund CARTWRIGHT. A History of the Western Division of the County of Sussex. London: T. Bensley, 1815-1819. 2 vols. (only, of 3). 4to (346 x 264mm.) 46 engraved plates (3 double-paged), including 5 maps with hand-colouring (4 double-paged), plus 3 folding genealogies. (Toning, intermittent spotting.) Near contemporary brown full morocco, elaborate gilt borders, 'L.W.H.R.' gilt initials to covers, g.e. (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: L.W.H.R. (gilt initials to upper cover); West Sussex County Library (labels to front pastedowns). - And a further ten volumes relating to Sussex (including a further copy of James Dallaway's 'A History of the Western Division of the County of Sussex', 3 vols., 1815-1832, 4to) (12).
