An impressive Victorian silver salver of lobed circular form, the centre finely engraved with the Wade family crest of a dog wearing a collar and lead, above a shield shaped armorial and Latin motto 'Pro Fide et Patria' (For Faith and Country), framed by foliate scroll and strapwork decoration, within a raised beaded rim, on beaded and scroll feet, the back inscribed 'Gustavus Rochfort Wade 1891', London 1866 by John Hunt & Robert Roskell, (overstruck mark) stamped 'Hunt & Roskell late Storr & Mortimer 4205', weight 4600.9g, diameter 57cm.
