First edition, 8vo (181 x 113mm.) 12pp. publisher’s advertisements to rear, 12pp. catalogue for C. Baker’s ‘Achromatic Microscopes, Barometers, Thermometers, Telescopes, Opera Glasses, &c. &c’ bound-in to rear. (Toning, occasional light spotting.) Original green blind-stamped cloth, pictorial gilt to upper cover (minor staining lower cover). – And a further twenty-two volumes relating to the microscope (including Jabez Hogg’s ‘The Microscope: Its History, Construction, and Applications’, 1854, 8vo, and ‘The Monthly Microscopical Journal: Transactions of the Royal Microscopical Society’, 18 vols., 1869-1877, 8vo) (23).
