A very rare and striking Bank Negara Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman partial banknote progressive die proof engraver's test strike for the obverse of a five hundred ringgit note, in purple with portrait vignette of Abdul Rahman to right side, values in opposing corners, on oversized paper/card with virtually four plate margins, dated '30.6.82' in pencil to bottom right (extremely fine, some handling marks and creasing to outer edge). Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
