A group of seven rare Central Bank of Kenya banknote progressive die proof engraver's test strike portrait vignettes of President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi in shades of brown on paper/card, and a further two mounted on card (all extremely fine, some handling/storage marks), together with two engraved copper plates and an engraved steel plate, all detailed with the same portrait. Note: this style of portrait was used on notes issued circa 1980-1993. Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
