Two rare banknote die proof engraver's test strike portrait vignettes, comprising Bank of Zambia President Kenneth Kaunda in black, as used on notes issued 1974-1988, and Central Bank of Tanzania President Julius Nyerere in black, as used on notes issued 1977-1978, both tack-mounted on paper with cut frames (both extremely fine), together with a group of other die proof engraver's test strike colour trial portrait vignettes of Julius Nyerere (all extremely fine). Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
