A pair of Japanese Imari porcelain jars and domed covers, 18th century, with later gilt metal mounts, each ovoid body painted and gilt with chrysanthemum and peony below ho-o bird panels to shoulders, each domed cover with gilt Buddhistic lion finial, fitted with European gilt metal rococo scroll moulded rims and bases, total height 43cm (finials restored).
