A Japanese Satsuma earthenware koro and pierced cover, Meiji period, the domed cover painted with simulated brocade beneath a seated Buddhistic lion, the ovoid body painted and gilt with opposing scenes of samurai and arhats between a pair of moulded lion mask handles, the circular base with a dragon in high relief, iron red signature to base, height 22cm (minor faults).
