A Chinese embroidered kesi weave chestnut brown ground 'dragon' robe, late Qing dynasty, finely worked in coloured and gold threads with eight five-clawed dragons, vapours, flaming pearls, Buddhistic emblems, bats and precious objects, above crashing waves and rocks, with diagonally striped lishui hem border, the collar and cuffs similarly decorated with dragons, bats, vapours and waves, fitted with gilt metal fastenings, length 125cm (faults).
