A Japanese Satsuma earthenware two-handled koro with wirework metal cover, Meiji period, of cylindrical form with triangular handles, painted and gilt with variously shaped figural panels against a ground of gilt tendrils and overlapping stylized waves, the metal cover with foliate medallion, gilt signature and Shimazu mon to base, height 11.5cm.
