COOKERY. – X. Marcel BOULESTIN. Having Crossed the Channel… London: Heinemann Ltd., 1934. First edition, 8vo (183 x 114mm.) Colour frontispiece, illustrations by J.E. Laboureur, errata leaf. (Mild toning, pencil notes to rear endpaper.) Original brown cloth, dust-jacket (chipping and creasing to spine ends). Note: Boulestin popularised French cookery for English audiences and was an influence on Elizabeth David. – And a further eleven books relating to cookery (including a first printing of Boulestin’s ‘What Shall We Have To-day?’, 1931, 8vo and R.E. Anderson’s ‘Gastronomy As a Fine Art, or, The Science of Good Living’, 1877, 8vo, and Edouard de Pomiane’s ‘Good Fare, A Code of Cookery’, 1932, 8vo) (12).
