First edition, 8vo (191 x 124mm.) 3 folding plates, including hand-coloured engraved geological map and a multi-folding hand-coloured map of geological sections, all bound at rear. (Toning, occasional light browning.) Contemporary full calf, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (extremities rubbed, some loss to the lettering piece). Provenance: ‘Thornfaulcon’ (armorial bookplate to the front pastedown).
