A late 19th/early 20th century Continental gilt metal singing bird automaton musical box, the top inset with four coloured paste cabochon and a hinged lid with applied gem set initials, opening to reveal a pierced grill and an articulated pop-up bird, the rear of the box with hinged compartment, width 9.6cm, boxed.
