A pair of Chinese gilt and lacquered offering boxes (chanab), late 19th century, made for the Straits and Peranakan Chinese, each rectangular cover with carved and pierced giltwood panels depicting figures, horses, vases, flowers and trees, on a similarly carved stand with Buddhistic lion feet and rectangular plinth base, the glazed top with removable carved and pierced giltwood and iron red tiered stands, length 41.8cm, height excluding removable stands 27.8cm (converted to electricity for use as lanterns).
