A Chinese jade lock pendant, probably late Qing dynasty, of ruyi-head form, incised with four characters, length 7.5cm, within a silk mounted gilt and glazed frame, 20cm x 20cm. Note: the reverse inscribed 'Formally [sic] the property of James Cavell Novelist', best known for his Asian saga novels, including Shogun.
