MORRIS, Francis Orpen. A Natural History of British Moths. London: George Bell & Sons, 1872. 4 vols., 8vo (252 x 156mm.) 132 hand-coloured lithographed plates. (Toning, occasional light spotting to preliminaries, some uncut leaves.) Original green blind-stamped cloth, gilt moths to upper covers (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance: W.H. Smith (embossed stamp to front-free endpapers); C.G. Burton (ink name to initial blank of vol. 1). – And a related volume (Edward Newman’s ‘An Illustrated Natural History of British Butterflies’, 1874, 8vo) (5).
