ARCHITECTURE. – Batty and Thomas LANGLEY. The Builder’s Jewel: or, the Youth’s Instructor, and Workman’s Remembrancer. London: C. and R. Ware, 1763. 16mo (145 x 111mm.) Engraved frontispiece, 99 engraved plates. (Browning, some marginal loss to title and A1 with paper repairs, slight chipping to blanks.) Near contemporary calf (rebacked with original morocco lettering piece, endpapers replaced, extremities rubbed). Provenance: A. Dunbar-Smith (ink inscribed verso frontispiece). – And a further edition (Batty and Thomas Langley’s ‘The Builder’s Jewel’, [lacking 2 plates], 1760, 16mo) (2).
