CLIMATE. – S. Morris BOWER (editor). Census of Thunderstorms in the British Islands 1925-1936. Summer Thunderstorms. First Annual Report. Huddersfield: Thunderstorm Census Organisation, 1933. 8vo (218 x 134mm.) Charts, maps, photographic illustrations, bound-in errata slip and newspaper clipping, containing annual reports for the first three years 1931-1933, ‘List of Observing Stations’ to rear. (Toning.) Original boards, gilt lettering to spine (discoloured). Note: scarce. The first annual report of the Thunderstorm Census Organisation was an amateur exercise that used private individuals as a source of data. Eventually it was absorbed into TORRO (The Tornado and Storm Research Organisation). Provenance: A.E. Moore (ink name inscribed to title).
