Note: the inscription reads: ‘To Richard, Best wishes to an outstanding and dependable friend, Mandela, 28.3.98’. Richard Brock worked as Deputy Editor on David Frost’s B.B.C. programme ‘Breakfast with Frost’. Having heard that Mandela might be available for an interview if his charity was recognised then Richard set to work to facilitate the interview. It was broadcast from the deck of the QEII in Durban harbour and the warmth of the inscription reflects Mandela’s appreciation of the efforts that had gone into making the arrangements.
