GODWIN, Francis, Bishop. Annales of England containing the Reignes of Henry VIII, Edward VI, Queen Mary…[translated] by Morgan Godwin. [London: I. Islip and W. Stansby], 1630. First English edition, 4to (268 x 175mm.) Title in manuscript, woodcut initials and headpieces. (Lacking woodcut titles and engraved portraits, marginal creasing to first and last leaves, L2 with marginal corner loss, X2-Ff2 with marginal insect damage, Uu1-Uu3 with tears.) Contemporary calf (wear with some loss to spine ends, insect damage to upper cover, rubbed). Note: first published in Latin in 1616. Provenance: Bowler (ink name to initial blank).
