A Chinese Ming style bronze censer, mark of Hu Wenming but probably late Qing dynasty or later, the circular bombé form body decorated in relief with a continuous band of dragons, flaming pearls and vapours, beneath another band of Buddhistic emblems, flanked by a pair of dragon mask and tongue handles, on a circular foot with meandering lotus and scrolling stem border, incised and gilt Hu Wenming mark to base, weight 2624g, height 9.5cm, width across handles 23cm, rim diameter 14.5cm.
