A late Victorian silver cased keyless wind open-faced 'Karrusel' gentleman's pocket watch, the three-quarter plate movement with Bahne Bonniksen patent revolving carriage escapement, detailed 'B.B Patent No. 21421', the backplate numbered 'No. 3027', the white enamelled dial with black Roman hour numerals and subsidiary seconds, London 1894, total weight 180g, case diameter 5.7cm. Note: Bahne Bonniksen (1859-1935) was a Danish watchmaker and inventor who came to London aged 24 before settling in Coventry. His karrusel (or carousel) invention featured a revolving carriage escapement, which he patented in 1892. See 'The Camerer Cuss Book of Antique Watches', pages 272 and 273 for illustrations and text.
