SURTEES, R.S. (editor). The New Sporting Magazine. London: Baldwin & Cradock and Ackermann and Walter Spiers, 1831-1838. Series 1, vols. 1-15 (only, of 19), 8vo (208 x 133mm.) Engraved titles, numerous engraved plates, indices, racing calendars. (Spotting to plates, some loose leaves, a few quires loosening.) Contemporary green half morocco (heavily rubbed). Note: Robert Surtees and Rudolph Ackermann edited ‘The New Sporting Magazine’ from 1831-1838. Contributors included Nimrod, Surtees and some of the best sports writers of the time. – And a further three volumes (‘The Sporting Magazine’, May-September 1826, 8vo, and ‘The Sporting Magazine’, 2 vols., November 1827-February 1828, 8vo) (18).
