CAESAR, Julius Gaius. – C.Ivlii Caesaris quae extant. Amsterdam: House of Elzevier, 1670. 8vo (199 x 109mm.) Engraved allegorical title, engraved folding map, 3 engraved illustrations, text in Latin. (Browning, lacking rear blank, marginal loss to one illustration.) Near contemporary calf, red morocco lettering piece to spine (extremities heavily rubbed, some loss at top of spine). Provenance: Newton Charles Ogle (bookplate to front pastedown and ink inscribed to front and rear pastedown); William J. Scott Cowan (ink inscribed verso front blank, dated 1931). – And a further volume ([Thomas Brodrick’s ‘A Compleat History of the Late War in the Netherlands’, 1 vol. only, 10 double-paged plans [of 14], 1713, 4to]) (2).
