A Japanese ‘straight’ naginata blade, Edo period, with slightly curved single-edged blade with deep horimono, blade length 55.5cm, the long tang with single hole piercing and signed to one face, overall length 117cm. Provenance: the collection of the late Roald Knutsen (1933-2025). Note: Roald Knutsen identified the signature as Masa-Yoshi and noted that this blade may date from the 17th century.
