LOT 4100
A very fine Japanese oval shakudo-inlaid bronze tsuba, Edo period, with basketweave decorated base ground and three-dimensional decorated shishi playing with a gourd-like object suspended with cord, the opposing side with a finely inlaid scroll case, also suspended with cord, signed to the centre, 7.5cm x 7.6cm. Provenance: the collection of the late Roald Knutsen (1933-2025).
