A rare ancient Egyptian carved limestone canopic jar lid, New Kingdom to Late Period, circa 1550-332 BC, finely modelled as the head of the falcon-headed deity Qebehsenuef, known to be responsible for protecting the intestines of the deceased, height 10cm, diameter 15.3cm. Provenance: from the collection of David Donlan (1947-2025), a dedicated and lifelong collector with a passion for the ancient worldd.
