A Chinese doucai porcelain vase, mark of Qianlong but probably later Qing dynasty, of ovoid form with moulded elephant mask and ring handles, the body painted with two horizontal bands of iron red, green and yellow enamelled lotus and scrolling leafy tendrils, outlined in underglaze blue, above a wider band of green and blue repeated waves, the short flared neck with upright stiff leaves, underglaze blue seal mark to base, height 13cm (minor chip to footrim).
