A large Japanese Satsuma earthenware koro and cover, Meiji period, the pierced domed cover with double chicken finial, the compressed globular body painted and gilt with a continuous scene of arhats, flanked by a pair of upright handles, on three Buddhistic lion mask shouldered paw feet, gilt sixteen-character signature to underside, height 47cm (one handle repaired and cover restored).
