PLEES, W. An Account of the Island of Jersey; Containing a Compendium of Its Ecclesiastical, Civil, and Military History. Southampton: T. Baker, 1817. 4to (227 x 149mm.) Half-title, engraved folding map, 4 steel-engraved plates with tissue-guards, errata leaf. (Small marginal tears, a 3-inch tear with repair verso.) Contemporary red half morocco over marbled paper-covered boards, green morocco lettering piece to the spine, spine gilt (extremities rubbed). Provenance: George C.D. Lewis (ink name to initial blank, dated 1833).
