A Dutch silver and parcel gilt marriage casket (knottekitje), probably 17th century, in the form of a domed chest with gilt swing handle and hinged cover, the domed top engraved with a standing couple, two hearts and foliate scrolls above inscription 'Gerrout Tot In Der Doot' (Faithful until Death), the sides similarly engraved, the front with gilt cherub head push button, on ball feet, mark to base and engraved 'A.C.' initials to edge of base, weight 117.3g, height 9cm, width 7.5cm.
